What was your name before?

The site doesn't look too bad. I like the graphic on the splash screen but I don't like splash screens. I never really saw a need for them.

I don't have a font called "Agency FB" so what gets displayed is my default. It looks really funky. I'd move the font stuff to an external CSS so it is cached. When you do that you can specify the font-face as Agency FB and then add on some others incase the viewers computer doesn't have that font (i.e. Verdanda, Arial, Georgia, etc.)

You have a few jaggies on the outlines around your links. Kind of takes away from the deisgn.

Everything is really kind of dull. I don't mean to be rude but I think that it could do with some more "un-nutral" colors.

mel: I'm just getting back up to speed on reviewing sites (and I'll drop in a review tomorrow) but you are still on the books:

if it is a password problem try contacting the Doc (I'm still not sure what one does in these circumstances!!).

Not bad, but I found a problem with your tables. They don't quite fit correctly (IE 6). The text to the right of your graphic doesn't seem to fit the area that it belongs.
Is your navigation supposed to look incomplete? It looks like its missing something on the right hand side.
One last gripe... I can't quite make sense of your logo. I can see an "m" and an "l" in it, but not the "e".

On the good side, I like the monochromactic blue scheme. Kinda neat.

Keep up the work!

Hey mel! I just checked, and your old username is still there, it's just "Krypton" instead of "krypton", two different names as far as UNIX is concerned. I wouldn't have deleted *you*, no way! Check it out, all is well.

Hmm, as to the site, the content is almost *too* hidden. The logos section is the only one that seems to have content right now, and I missed the scroller the first few times, it was only because I was convinced that something must be there thta I lept poking around. The delay on the 'typing' section bugged me a bit also, I read faster than that, so I felt a lot of frustration waiting for the next line to appear. Overall, I'd say that too much of the available space is dedicated to interface, with just that little tiny content space, it seemed unbalanced to me.

First impressions, it looks clean, sharp and very blue (cool)...
Yes there are a couple of jaggie issues, but none that smack you in the eye. I'm not 100% convinced of using a Mauve box bg around Mel studios, I feel it would look better with the same bg as the remainder.
On the menu buttons, I take it the linking button is supposed to be positioned in that way?

Overall, I like it a lot, nice start....

Nice site Like the colors and everything, but the menybar on the right looks odd. The right side of the buttons are missing. Not sure it is supposed to be like that, but I would consider changing it...

And the content under the "dev" and "inking" section is displayed way to slow. Speed up the writing animation.

Keep up the good work

mel: You've certainly got a good strong look going there some thoughts:

1. I suspect 250 kb for a page isn't going to make everyone in dialupville happy. It does take quite a while and some people will just switch off.

2. It breaks very badly in Op6. A lot of stuff just isn't there (including your News section).

3. I would counsel against using Flash in such an extensive way unless you've got a HTML alternative.

4. All the windows seem to small and scrolling the mission window down (which, at least for me, is showing 2 or 3 lines and that doesn't make for comfortable reading) is a tricky business.

5. The scrollers are tricky and it isn't clear when you've reached the bottom of the scrolling area so it leaves one clicking on the button wondering if something should be happening.

6. Some of the buttons bring up screens with no content so it is tricky trying to work out if I'm waiting for something to happen or not.

7. In the skills section you have Operating systems and then it goes into what looks like a list of your interests which seems to merge with what could be a list of hardware you can use (it ends with photo copy machine. You need to make the sections in this window clearer to avoid confusion.

Overall it looks good in IE6 but fails badly in Op6 (I haven't checked with other browsers). If this is supposed to be a window on your work, so that potential employers can see it perhaps, than you need to make sure that everyone can visit it (like people not using IE with the latest Flash plugins) or you could be shooting yourself in the foot. I'd also like to see you make all the panels or windows bigger - I would suggest having some kind of feature whereby you only have one main screen which you can toggle between About you, News, Portfolio. You could also get more screen space by getting rid of, reducing or incorporating the melstudios logo on the left (it leaves a lo of unused space below it). I think you've made a good start and you have a strong look and good colours, however, the general interface could do with improving (also work on those scrollers) and you should test in all major browsers (the Big Three and NS4.x) and make sure there is a HTML alternative. Keep up the good work.
