I think when a design company has some insanely cool design (that makes sense) with all kinds of web candy, it shows a diversity in skills and ability. I can also its drawbacks though. The moment a design company becomes more artsy than functional, the moment it loses its credibility. I think if this intro was somehow worked into a a way for an interface to appear, it'd be pretty keen. However, it might just be better off as a show case of skillz.
