I'm in a bit of a rush so there's likely to be some typos and dis-jointed sentances...

Ok.... you've got some nice ideas there but I think your failing in the execution.

From a pure theory point of view it's a human interface nightmare. Your breaking all the rules which isn't really a bad things but you have to be careful when you do.

Right of the mark I was upset that you gave me no insentive to click on the image to launch the website (My cursor didn't change to my that lovabul little hand). This also made me a little scared of what I was likely to find beyond.

Sadly my fears were justified. I had to read an entire paragraph of text before I knew how to navigate your website. Furthermore, my eye was not drawn to this paragraph and due to it's importance it should have been. Let me extroplate on this some more by describing what I (a possible many other people) went through on my first visit.

Because the page appeared in a popup my focal point started where my cursor was (center of the screen). My eye was then drawn up to the top of the popup because of the red and the elements of line converging on a an invisible point element. Also because we native english (and many other languages) speking humans tend to read an image much the same way we do a page of text, start at the top-left and moving to the right and down.

Then my eye jumped down to the bottom as I found nothing at the top. Because you have a page sitting on a white background (the white is the splash page under the popup) my eye was drawn left when it went down as the white rectangle where the paragraph is tends to receed into the background making the grey area seem more important.

Finaly I reached what should have been the primary focal point which was the paragraph and I saw the word info. Although I didn't read the paragraph then as it didn't seem to important (the contrast is too muted). Instead I start sreaching for some kind of navagational reference. I couldn't find one so I started romaing my mouse over the image looking for the feedback of a cursor change for linked areas. Still nothing, around about now I'm thinking that this is all there is to the website. Finaly I decide to read the paragraph I found earlier and eventualy figure out how to navigate your website.

I'll have to leave this as just a review of the site's interface for now as I'm a tad busy. If I get time I'll add more later.

TiN2K-D: Welcome. OK + and - it is then (Dracusis has made some good points but here is my take).

Lack of progress on preloading: -

Splash screen: -

Pop-up: -

Graphics: +

Lack of hand on splash screen link: --

IE6 image toolbar: -

Usability in 800x600: ---- (in fact in Op6, with ad, at 800x600 you can't see any of the content).

Lack of actual text (all done in graphics): -

Use of right click for navigation: ---

Switching of scrollbars: ---

And that is about that. This laptop won't go above 800x600 and due to the way things are setup (see above) I can use virtually none of the site. There are important guidelines on usability out there and you should have an understanding of how people access and use your page even (in fact especially) if you are going to go breaking the rules. It is a fine line people walk in innovative user interfaces and it is very easy to make things utterly unusable. You've basically popped up a new window and removed nearly all the conventional ways of navigating your page so you should make very sure you've got every angle covered and here you haven't. If this is for an actual working clothing company then you are really goin to have to rein in a number of the more off the wall ideas and try for something more conventional (do I have to mention Boo??)

You need to consider people visiting with different browsers, resolutions, etc. and plan accordingly. It looks like you are trying something interesting and I'd really like to see it working but you are going to have to do much more work to get this working correctly and possibly compromise some of your artistic ideas so that more people can use your site. If the purpose of the site was just to have an interesting and innovative web site then you are some way to achieving that if it is to primarily sell clothes then you may be going down the wrong path. It should be possible to do something interesting but the trickier you make your navigation then the less you will sell.

There are an awful lot of - above and I don't want this to seem too negative as it should be possible to do something bold without it impacting too heavily on sales but you aren't yet there I hope the reviews you get will help you rethink and reformulate your ideas and come up with something that works both aesthetically and practically.

Thanks for the rewiews! lots of god ideas to make the site better...
I know the site only work in 1024*768 > , I decided to make it that way. now you wounder why? only becuse we have that resulution in school and I want the site to be opitmized for that resulution...not so smart if you doing a "real" page but this is only for school...

Im going to make the splash better so the vistors understand to click on the img.

I understand why you dont like the navigation, I only have it to impress my teacher...she already seen it and she was very impressed...if the site going online for "real" im going to make a navigationbar...

I post a post when the changes have been done...

yack! my grandma is better on english than me...

TiN2K-D: No need to apologise about your English!!

If the criteria is to impress you teacher on the school monitor resolution then it looks like it should work fine (well done - let us know what your mark is) - if it were to be a real commercial venture then that might be another story.

I wish I had projects like this when I was at school!!!

Yah, I won't beloabour the points mentioned above, I had the same experience, first, no visual feedback letting me know to click the splash screen for launching the window, then again, had to close it and launch it again before I stumbled on the navigation!

Some minor fixes, but worthwhile. First, make the 'launch' link an actual <a href> link instead of an onClick image, this way we'll get the hand cursor at least. The graphics inside are cool, but I'd consider adding some cool animation maybe, showing a cursor moving across the screen and then a word balloon saying [right click!] and making the navigator visible, it's a cool idea, but you need to put more effort into educating people about what's supposed to happen! I'd also consider making that little popup navigator more interesting graphically, it's kind of a boring little grey box compared to the lush graphics outside of it. Neat thing, let it show off some!

I get a Javascript error on the product page using MSIE6.0 for the PC, I haven't dug in too deep to find what the problem is. Overall, I'd say it's a cool concept, but you need to work more on the details of the function to make it more obvious. (Possibly have *two* ways to fire off the navigation? One, the right click for people who know what they're doing, and another link to launch it, docked to the edge somewhere?)

So, you're in Stockholm too, eh? What school is this for?

Your pal, -doc-

vp: Good point (a computer project when I was at school would have invovled getting your hands on one of the 2 and waiting for it to start and then doing some typing, hopefully)!! Better than daubings on cave walls though
