I rather like the departure from the 'dark and brooding' tech thing. But he is correct that the metal tubes lack that round feel and the jaggies. I'm sure if you do a quick Google search you can find a host of tutorials to help that. I am not sure what to do about the nav stuff, you have a lot of sections that have long names.
