tmt: Welcome. Are you from Glasgow? Bad news about the result the other day. Some thoughts:
1. You are blessed with a good strong clean colour scheme to work with and you've done a good job. The dash of orange looks a little out of place though - use more of it or get rid of that little bit.
2. With a subtle light background (which I like) having a white box without a border (your title and the lower box) doesn't work (its slightly 'unsettling' as the difference is subtle - it leaves one wih the slight impression that something is wrong without it being that obvious). I'd stick a border around the 'latest headlines' box (the same as with your main box) and I'd aim to make the header transparent or put a green box around that. This goes for other boxes like on your ringtones page.
3. In your menu vertically align the text to the middle and but a space between the text and the bullet (I'm not sure on whether the bullet graphic is a little too much for such a clean look - think about that one).
4. Try to avoid underlining as formatting - its too closely associates with links.
5. Is that the effect you want on your ringtones page? All those nested lists just look like they are a mistake.
6. You'll need keyword and description metatags.
7. I'd think about trying to get your hosting site to look at PHP - things like a guestbook, match updates and other interesting things would be a lot easier with it.
8. The bottom of your navigation could do with some attention as it is doing some strange things:
quote:
<img src="/mini_badge.jpg" width="25" height="25">Picture Gallery<br>
<img src="/mini_badge.jpg" width="25" height="25">Match Reports<br>
<img src="/mini_badge.jpg" width="25" height="25"></a><a rel="nofollow" href="songs.shtm">Web
Cams<br>
<img src="/mini_badge.jpg" width="25" height="25"></a><a rel="nofollow" href="guestbook.shtm">Songs<br>
<img src="/mini_badge.jpg" width="25" height="25">Guestbook<br>

</a><a rel="nofollow" href="#"> </a><a rel="nofollow" href="#"> </a><a rel="nofollow" href="#"> </a><a rel="nofollow" href="#"> </a><a rel="nofollow" href="#">
</a>
9. Make more use of CSS and get rid of the FONT tag and don't use the <BR> tag for vertical spacing. It should make your pages smaller, your site easier to upgrade and me happy
10. I'm not so enamoured of such big blocks of colour on a page - it doesn't look hmmmm... slick, professional, etc. I might have a play with adding a 1px border around the blocks and seeing how that looks.
11. It seems to be a bit of a fad to add characters to the title tag :: My Site :: - I'm not sure how anyone else feels but it appears to me to give a less pro feel to the site. It also makes the task bar button give me no information whatsoever when I've got a few things open.
Overall you've got a good strong look and it looks like you've got plenty of content to add to the site. There are only a few issues that I noticed - if you fix a few of those it will look much more polished. Well done.
Photoshop tutorials? The button to the Gurus Network at the bottom of the page will be a great first start!! Look for things like JKMabry's transparency tutorials.
PS - you might want to take your sig over to the Big Sigs forum as it needs a little something to get it working with the Asylum colour scheme!!
