Ok here is the deal. I became the new Co-Webmaster of this place and i have been working with one of Glish's layouts:

link to it: http://www.glish.com/css/7.asp

here is the link to my modified version: http://www.dfpunk.com/

tell me what your thoughts are on the flow and coding. i did the logo and colors. just the basic layout is a borrowed copy.

So it's just this one page? Not much to really say but, I don't like the font that you used on the "DFPUNK" and "Punk and Metal" at the top. I don't think that it really fits with the theme of "music" much less Punk or Metal.

What is the symbol in the left hand corner?

The colors are fine but I think that there needs to be something in there in the way of graphics that says "THIS IS A PUNK AND METAL SITE!" Know what I mean?

On the links everything is lower case. I guess this is the trend now but you missed one "Metal Area" has some caps. Consistantcy.

Yes you did use one of Glish's layouts but you didn't *really* do anything with it. I would take that layout and add my own touch to it. Not just changing the colors or adding a logo, but making the site feel like a Punk and Metal site. Needs something more. It looks more of a professional business site than a Punk and Metal site.

Ok first off. Thanks for your comments.

Let me give some details:

I am basically the site designer but i need to make the owner of the site happy. He has seen the design and likes it. The one thing im worried about is keeping it fluid. I noticed in Netshit the CSS won't work. I dont know why but oh well. I cant check anything but IE since i dont feel like taking the 5 or so hours to download the Mozilla and Opera, Im on a 56k you know.

The site i agree needs some tuning and I intend to fix them i just need to find out exactly how to make it one of a kind. I am trying to stay with the original layout so i dont mess up the smoothness of it although i am looking to make it better

Well take my comments on what they are, which is one persons view.

Having a "business" type site not work in NN is in my book a bad thing. NN4.7 doesn't understand what CSS is. That is why you have to use tables for the layout. Sucks I know but that is just the way it is. CSS was an extreamly new thing when NN4.7 came out.

Making your client happy would have to mean that they were getting traffic to the site, Right? Well once again my view is restricting your viewers is not a good way to get traffic. Your call really. But then again, if you don't "feel like taking the 5 or so hours to download the Mozilla and Opera," to test the pages in, maybe you should rethink it.

As for how to make it better, that would be up to your creativeness. Like I said, I think it needs to look like a Punk and Metal site. The logo doesn't come across as that and neither does the layout as far as color and such.

Maybe someone will come along and give you a great review but I am just pointing out what I see.
