After some major host issues, I've finally got my site up and running. It's still at a very basic stage at the moment but I'll be fiddling with it a lot over the next couple weeks. I'm using a few "canned" scripts that I'd eventually like to replace with my own code when I get more comfortable with PHP. I also scrapped my original all CSS layout for a tables/CSS layout due to some frustrations in that department. I'd like any constructive criticism and comments. Don't be shy, I can take it. |

i really like the first page you got there, it's simple, intuitive and looks pretty good, i think i'm ok with the colours. only thing is the w3c buttons at the bottom, loose them, and the top bar doesn't draw enough attention, maybe fade it to cream instead of grey. main gripe is that this nice design falls apart a bit on the gallery pages. presumably because you're not using a php script you wrote yourself, but all the same you should be able to lay it out a bit better, as per the first page. hope that helps a litte... |

Thanks for the suggestions quisja. I've already dumped the w3c images per your suggestion and I'm working on integrating the gallery into the site layout directly but that'll take a while. I'm thinking of bring parts of the header logo down in the rest of the site so as to make the logo more part of the page... maybe like clouds from the logo behind the block headers that're currently orange. That should help the flow a little. |

I just have a few comments. I love the clean look of the whole site, very nice. I also really like the colour scheme simply because it was unexpected and it's easy enough on the eyes. Also, on the Pic Gallery page, you lose your navigation (home, newz, etc). I'd like to see a way to get back :home: if I'm cruising through your photos. |

Thanks for the suggestions. I had a chance to sit down and do quite a bit of template work tonight so the gallery is stating to look like it belongs. Also, per your suggestion Nethermind, I added some links back. I've still got a ways to go but she's coming together... slowly but surely. Any other suggestions? |

Um, let's see, splitting hairs here. I think that you should be consistent with the naming of your home/start page. On the home page it says home and then on the pic gallery page it says start page (see? told you it was splitting hairs). |

Ya know, strangely enough, I was thinking of that exact same thing last night while going back over the templates for the gallery. I got lazy and put it on the back burner. I'll be fixing it soon enough though. |

I've toned down the oranges a tad. I think it helps the flow of things. I just need some more content. I'll work on that this weekend. |

i like the colorscheme.. though light yellow background might be a bit darker just a litle bit an maybe a tiny bit of red in it so feels a bit more orange. Also the dates from the news are in italics and that is not very nice...at my screen they look a bit pixelated. That's a thing you have a lot with italic fonts. So my sugestion would be, use a smaller font type and make it dark grey. But it's just details. |

Thanks for the post Rinswind. I agree with the italics. I think I may size it down a bit and go bold. I appreciate the suggestions everyone and, I'm still open to any other ideas. |
