Topic: Review my site anyone? :) (Page 1 of 1)

I´ve gone through heaps and heaps of designs with varying amounts of photoshop work (this one I haven´t really done any gfx work for at all) to make it happen... This (fairly simple) design, however has stayed quite a while and looked much the same since december with only a few cosmetic lifts like the handwriting headings, cleaner images, etc. I´ve tried to maintain a consistent style across the entire site (not that it´s too big at the moment - looking for interesting content to add).

Anyway, what I would like people to do is write up short reviews for me containing what they like/dislike, suggestions for additions of all kinds, colours etc... I´m running out of inspiration myself

Are you planning on including any graphics? I like the "Less is More" approach to design, but this might be taking it further than I would.

Well I've seen worse blogs before.

Clean designs are nice and somewhat refreshing, especially with all of these ghastly flash sites out there, but I think there should be some sort of contrast in your website. A white background with a slight gray font color is dull. Check out Colours on the Web, which has some real good information on different color schemes. You could also look to create a better head graphic for the top of the site. Start entertaining new ideas and ask some questions in the Photoshop forum.

The overall typical weblog layout is fine, although its starting to become tired. I suggest trying to think up a different approach.

I really do dislike flash sites in general just to make that statement.

Think is, everybody are doing all these stupid, "fancy" sites these days, with generally idiotic placement of text and overly used graphics. Wow, 3d edges, how boring. Then again theres the simplicists like me that pretty much produce sites that look alike, which is also pretty boring. I think I should start looking for a decent "neutral" design.... That site you gave me on colours is pretty damn neat... going to play with that a while

Thinking of contrast, I´m thinking about something like having a different colour on the menu, and toning down on the white alot. I´m also thinking about some gradient for the background, not really sure where to start, but I guess it´s going to need a lot of experimentation anyways...
