Hi all .. Here's something I wrote yesterday for a client. It had to be done inside a budget (only 2 days paid time - 1 for design, 1 for data upload and organisation), it had to fit a fairly tight brief (company colour scheme, etc.) and, once operational, the data had to be dynamic and maintainable by non-webbies. So I was fairly limited in scope, but I had a fair bit of freedom to set up the interface and data handling.

The Thumbnail menus are generated dynamically with PHP (only the "Classical" menu has data in it at present) and the title and description will also follow the same principle (i.e they will switch with the images, and be loaded from text files). All I have to do now is wait for the client to hand me the balance of the initial dataset so I can finish the job off.

It's a done deal - they like it, but your constructive opinions, good or bad, would, as always, be appreciated.

The Mural Company

(edit - it may not degrade too well to older browsers - if anyone with IE5/NS4 is prepared to look it over I'd be grateful)

That is one of the slowest-loading sites that I have ever seen...(and I have a 1.7Mbit connection)

Besides that, I think it is a creative look, however...

The little buttons it the corner of each layer seem to do the same thing (why do you need two of them?).
There is a slight width problem viewing the page in Opera7.

I'm afraid the slow loading will be caused by the web radio station I'm running across the same a-DSL line ... sorry about that ...

The site is still loading (I am on a cable connection, for what it's worth). One thing so far: I got an error on Line 28, Character 28 (invalid code?). Don't know what that's about. I'll give more input when I see the site. Be back in a few

:::EDIT::: I am getting javascript errors all over the place: Line 1 Character 1, Line 47 Character 1, etc. And there is a whole bunch of empty space on the page. When I click on the Classical button, nothing changes, and nothing happens when I click on the thumbnails of the images. Maybe it's me? I dunno. I am testing it in IE 6.0 with Win 98 2nd Ed.

Thanks Nethermind - In fact it must be either you, or some sort of dataloss caused by the speed problems and/or dropped packets, because I used IE6/NS7 as my test browsers, and I didn't have a glitch with the current site on either browser.
