I made a new simple face for my own CMS-systen, threw out PHP-nuke and now it's up

Let me guess, you got the inspiration for the titlebars from the winXP silver theme? They are almost identical...

The similarity might be good since user who use that theme might feel 'more at home', but I personally dislike that theme (and most other window' themes for that matter). The scrollbar in the latest articles/login section doesn't really fit in either. To get it to fit in with the rest of the page you should either remove it all togheter or use a costume made scrollbar. Except from the those two things I like the layout. Nice colors and logical placement of everything.

The page breaks in both Opera7 and Mozilla 1.2.1. In Mozilla I get both a horizontal scrollbar and a vertical scrollbar along with the scrollbar in the latest articles/login section. The Articles <div> also covers the whole screen width so I can't see the menu. The background behind the Articles title is also plain grey, so there is some problem there with the title bar as well...

In Opera there is a small margin around the main div, since I've my default background color set to blue I then get a not-so-nice blue border around the whole thing. The article section is also placed bellow the menu. In Opera there is no scrollbar in the latest article/login section, so instead the whole div is expands bellow the main div. You probably didn't understand what I meant by that, so I'll post a screenshot of it as well.

On line 21 you've forgotten the equal sign in <div id"sub0"></div>...

You might want to run the site through a validator as well, since it doesn't comply to all the standards of html 4.0 right now...

I've checked it in Opera 6 and Moz... Horrid!
(And no excuse for it, just lazy)

I'll fix it as soon as I get some more free time.

Ok, after that humiliating experience I've hacked the site a bit.
See http://www.dmsproject.com/ for an update.

I still have problems with Opera 6 (don't have 7 yet) and I'm not sure on how to fix it.
Any tips and suggestions on the site is welcome.

Don't have time for an actual review at the moment, but I wanted to add a quick note: get opera 7 ASAP and check it in that. If it works there, don't worry too much about 6...6 has all sorts of issues that seem to have been 'fixed' in 7.

In Mozilla and Opera 7 there is a slight difference in the top position of the 'The servings...' area and the 'Pure content...' area. The 'Pure content...' is a couple of pixels closer to the top of the page.

You should do something about the box that surrounds the menu item when you hover over them. As it is now some of the links appear on one line when not hovered over, but when I hover over them they switch too two lines. The simple solution to this would be to make the 'bounding box' wider so it encompasses the whole link.

In Mozilla I also get a horizontal scrollbar in the archive/login section when I view it at something around 800x600. Not sure why since nothing uses the whole space, but it is still there.

You should add some description and keyword meta-tags to the beginnig of the document...

I tried Op7, all is pretty ok except for overflow:auto which doesn't work.
I'll fiddle some more with the boxes on the links and the horiz placement of the main boxes

Overall very nice. Very easy on the eyes and easy to get around.

My biggest peeve was also the links - they move around as you hover as well as, in some cases, jumping to 2 lines.

While you could make the surrounding box bigger, that won't gaurantee keeping a single line, and it won't stop the links from shifting over and down a pixel either. This is what I generally do in such cases -

padding:3px;
border:none;
}

a:hover {
padding:2px;
border:#666 1px dotted;
}

the extra padding on the nornal state makes up for the space taken by the border on hover, so nothing moves =)

Works better now, but there still seems to some problem with the menu jumping in Opera 7. I'm using the method DL mentioned (switching padding) and I don't have any problems in any of the major browsers. So it might help witching the size of the padding instead of the margin...

The two links, "archives" and "read more -->", doesn't work as they should in Opera 7 nor in Mozilla 1.2.1. In Opera the whole surrounding box is above the the text link, the bottom line barely touch the top of the text. In Mozilla the box surrounds the whole text, but the bottom and right paddings are smaller than the top and left. The box also extends into the text above.
