It allows for including php code and session vars in the javascript or css easilly. Then I can have js, css, and html as separate entities, store them to the db, and swap them as needed, allowing different javascripts to interact with different layouts and contents easilly. == mega flexibility: my site will surely end up with several front ends, inclduing plain html, swf, director, and java, since I mastered them and want to play.
