I took one of the Willhoite croquet ball pictures and trimmed out the grass background. Then I selected the green part of a globe image, copied it, and pasted it onto the croquet ball. I then tweaked the color settings and transparency, did some cleaning up, added a second ball with another globe, etc etc. The image was 90% custom made, I just needed a convinient way to put the continents on without drawing them by hand. Thanks for pointing it out, but all images on every site I've ever built have been created from scratch or heavily modified from public domain images.
