Great work, it has certainly improved from the previous versions

On every page, except the Operation System (../os/1.htm), there is a black border around the links in the menu, around the links on the top bar and around the next/back links at the bottom. It probably shouldn't be there since it the links looks better without the border

A little more padding for the link you have in the top-right corner (Test yourself and Return) would make the link more readable, since the text is touching the borders a couple of places right now.

In the 'batch file' section you should add some padding to the example batch files (the lines inside the lighter gray area). Adding a little border aruond the examples might look good as well since it would make the example easier to separate from the rest of the page. You've done the example files using list, but for me it would seem more appropriate to use a styled div for it and then place the text inside <pre> tags to keep the formating. The code would then look something like this:

code:
...
<div id="codeDiv">
<pre>
c:
cd \work
copy *.doc a:\
</pre>
</div>
...

You could then easily style the 'codeDiv' using CSS.

Hi, guys. Could you do me a favor?
How many of you see this page looks odd?
http://www32.brinkster.com/sanukiudon/os/2t.htm
I do. Each three boxes interfere each other! How about you?

If you mean that as you resize the window they evtually overlap then yes... Would you like me to post some screen captures of it in different browsers for you?

Dear Dracusis

No, I mean when you set screen size full, do you have space between each boxes or adhere each other?

When I saw that link using IE5, on the ground flooer at shcool, they adhere each other.
But IE5 upstars, it looked fine. I don't know why same IE5 showing me different appearance of my site.

Just drive me crazy.

Many thanks for your help and kind offer. And screen capture will be the most appreciated.

Ok, first of all be absolutly sure their both IE 5.0

Chances are one is IE 5.0 and the other is IE5.5 or IE6, or maybe one computer was a Mac and the other was a PC. IE for the Mac is very different to IE for the PC.

Hi, Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I think they are both IE5 on PC.
At my polytech, there is no Mac. I will check if they are IE5 or not on Monday.
Cya then.

The white background is way too bright. Pure white might work for text, but it gets (most of the time at least) too bright on the eyes if you have large areas covered with it. Change it to something like #eee and see what that looks like instead..

Right now the .middle class covers more than 100% of the screen width so I get a HSoD. You have left: 24%; margin: 2%; width: 76%; and if you add all of those together you get a 'box model' width on 104% (=24+76+2(left margin)+2(right margin) ). The same goes for the .top class.

You should not set the width of the .middle class. If you leave it unset (or set to auto) it will cover as much space as is left between the .left class and the right edge of the screen. This way you'll avoid getting the HSoD. You might need to do some other minor tweaks to get it to work...

Yup, got to do something about the horizontal scrollbar...

I also have to say that I'm not too fond of the color scheme. The black text is a tad on the difficult side to read against that gray, or maybe I'm just tired. Also, you should try to keep your link color consistent, not to mention the hover effects. Inconsistent link behavior can be disorienting.

I'm not sure about the position of the left menu, either. Maybe aligning it with either the top menu or the content...

Ah, but I'm definitely tired, and tiredness and site reviews do not mix. Good night, Hiroki.

About them colour schemes: the first thing that struck me was that it was a bit like DOS. I was straight back to 1994 (when I first started using computers). So for a site that is about operating systems, this would seem like a great idea. Except DOS is a design-free, harsh on the eyes, 16-colour beast... The only problem in terms of your site really is that it's a bit harsh on the eyes, like others have said.

Nostalgia is a funny thing: we have fond memories of how great things were in the good old days, but if we were actually to go back and see them as they were, things might not look so rosy anymore. This design is a perfect example of this concept.
