The white background is way too bright. Pure white might work for text, but it gets (most of the time at least) too bright on the eyes if you have large areas covered with it. Change it to something like #eee and see what that looks like instead.. |

About them colour schemes: the first thing that struck me was that it was a bit like DOS. I was straight back to 1994 (when I first started using computers). So for a site that is about operating systems, this would seem like a great idea. Except DOS is a design-free, harsh on the eyes, 16-colour beast... The only problem in terms of your site really is that it's a bit harsh on the eyes, like others have said. |

Nostalgia is a funny thing: we have fond memories of how great things were in the good old days, but if we were actually to go back and see them as they were, things might not look so rosy anymore. This design is a perfect example of this concept. |
