The page uses XHTML strict, and all the images are called in using a CSS image-text replacement trick. To be honest with you, I don't recommend that you use this on the actual site, as there are some real-world accessibility issues with it, but it was just a demonstration. Take a look at the code and you won't see any <img> tags. Everything's in the CSS. Anyways, play around with it a bit.
