Hmm... design looks vaguely familiar. ;) Although, honestly, I think you pulled it off better here than you did in the other site. Good contrast on the text, consistency with colors. Having seen this design for the second time now, though, I realize that the miniscule content area does bother me somewhat. You've got the picture area, which roughly approximates an 800x600 browser window area (but still scrolls vertically), and then the content takes up only a third of that area in terms of width. With the funky border and padding, the content area itself grows even smaller. I suppose that's OK if you don't have a whole lot of content (which you don't), but where it breaks down is in the photos section. I was wondering how you were going to pull off a photo in that tiny content area, and then I clicked on a thumb and saw you didn't even bother trying. That's very bad practice, in my opinion. All that atmosphere that you worked so hard to create with your design just goes flying out the window when the user gets smacked with a pic on a plain white background. At the very least, you could design a special page to display the pics--maybe just that funky border on a plain blue backdrop (you don't need a picture in the background because that will just distract from the picture you're trying to display). Kind of like what you do for the guestbook (which is nicely done, except for the scrollbars, as you mentioend), except without the background pic. So that's my one complaint, I guess--breaking mimesis with the pics. Fix that and I think you'll be good to go. You might want to reconsider using the same design for two different sites, but I suppose that is a matter of personal preference (and it's not like you're ripping anybody off, either). Not sure what to tell you about the scrollbars. I religiously avoid iframes and the like, so I'm not too well versed in that area. DHTML would work, but I haven't played around with that in ages. I know the Doc has a nice DHTML scrollbar script that you might be able to adapt, though. Hope that helps. [Edit: Oh, the comments I made on tables vs. CSS in the thread for your other site still hold. I just figured there was no point repeating myself here.] ___________________________ Suho: www.liminality.org
