It depends on how you define the future :-) the book stuff works on DOM capable browsers which is really where all the development time and code comes from. So if you throw out ns4 and opera then jeffs and I code works on IE5+ and NS6 but the future aspect comes from the xhtml part (even though we have it working its not widely used as yet), so i think your right from this perspective. I havent seen the new book from wrox but will go get it. I dont find IE6 slow, I find it quicker than IE5.5 I have dual disks so i run both.
