Topic: Ready to strangle AOL (Page 1 of 1)

Can I say that publically?
Regardless. I have a client that *gasp* runs AOL and views her site in the AOL browser.
I know, grounds for violence but it's a small town, I try to be forgiving. And as politely condescending as possible.
The digital photos I've rendered for her (in Fireworks 4), are coming up on her computer as "blurred" and "fuzzy", even though they're crisp on my machine as well as from several other locations.
And damned if I know why. It's been suggested that it's AOL that's messing the pics up, as well suggested that it's a color problem.
If ANYONE has any suggestions or even reasonable guesses as to why people on AOL cannot seem to see these photos properly, please post.

If that happens on every computer that's using AOL, then you can blame AOL. Otherwise, if it only happens on your client's computer, then the problem is somewhere else - probably with bad drivers for graphic card and/or wrong setting of screen color depth (i.e. 16bit instead of 32bit).

Or maybe she's using a resolution that's really high for her monitor or something.

There's a setting you can set on the AOL browser, some kind of check box labeled "screw up all images, please", and the default is CHECKED. Check out this URL, it explains how to change those settings...

Thanks guys, your advice is much appreciated. However, this woman's computer had apparently contracted a virus...and no, it was NOT me sending it to her ....she had to reformat and BAM. Suddenly she sees everything with crystal clarity and she's kissing my creative behind for 3 months of giving me grief. Oh but I do love that phrase "you were right!".
