so what i'm trying to do is to change the bgcolor of the "arrow" .. not the bgcolor of the content.. is there any way of doing this? i think i remember seeing it on a site, but don't remember the url...

Do you meant the cursor?

Are you refering to a dropdown menu that uses little arrows as bullets for each menu item?

You need to clarify things a little more. Maybe posting a link to the problem your working would also help.

Unfortunately, you cannot currently specify the colors of the border, scrollbar, or arrow of a dropdown select menu.

You can, with limited cross browser support, specify the colors and fonts of the contents of the menu itself.

If you did actually see this on a site, it must have been a well done graphical imitation of a select menu.

DL-44 is right (of course!!) - for an example of making a make drop down menu see:

Its says it is backwards compatible but looks pretty bad in Op6!! So be careful if going for this approach (which seems like too much hassle).
