Its become apparent to me that I'm going to need seperate style sheets for seperate browsers. My server has access to Perl, CGI, and SSI. (no php) And then of course there is good old javascript. What would be the fastest or best if fastest isn't the best way of detecting browsers and then loading a .css file?

Thanks,
Schitzo

This shouldn't be necessary. I've never heard of anyone having to do it before. Why do you think you need to?

Really? Well for one thing (I'm sure there are many others) Netscape puts the border on the outside of a box object and IE puts it on the inside so I need two different border sizes depending on what browser.

Here is the site I'm working on: http://wind.prohosting.com/thedorm/index.shtml

and here is the lone style sheet: http://wind.prohosting.com/thedorm/styles/main.css

Ah, yes, that. That's an annoying bug. But there is one pretty well known workaround that avoids the necessity of multiple style sheets. It is best described here.

Of course, if you really just want to use a different style sheet for each browser, that's OK. I'm just trying to keep you from doing it if you're doing it as a last resort. If I were to do it, I would probably use javascript to document.write() <link> tags into the head of the page, doing the browser detection with javascript.

I am with Slime here. The whole idea of CSS is standard.

Argh! I downloaded netscape today and I decided I'd view the source of Doc's page to see how he got the verticle cetering to work in netscape. But when I went there all I got was an empty black page! I HATE NETSCAPE!!! AAAAAAAAAA!!!!!
