I think this goes here. I've gotten wind of XML's capability to do the task that shall follow, but I really don't have time to learn XML right now in depth ere this project's deadline, and I was just wondering...

Anybody know a good script to query shipping prices from the UPS server without leaving our web page?

I was thinking something along the lines of how Authorize.net does it, where you pass info to the server and it returns a string for parsing. I have read through UPS's documentation on Rates and Service Selection tool(including their one on XML, but it's all greek to me until I get to learning it) and there is no protocol that they offer for you to connect to their gateway and receive info back (i.e. form fields with specific names and a way to tell the server which address to post to).

I would rather not use something that requires me to leave my site or include someone else's web page.

*Cracks knuckles* O.K. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

RN: Can you give us links to the pages you want to access at UPS?

[edit: What languages are you using? Try:

ASP:
http://www.sabrainc.com/UPS.asp?P=UPS
http://www.hotscripts.com/ASP/Scripts_and_Components/E-Commerce/Product_Shipping/

PERL:
http://www.perl-studio.com/ups_shipping/

PHP:

Hooking into the XML: http://www.phpbuilder.com/snippet/detail.php?type=snippet&id=712
Fedex if you want it?: http://www.phpbuilder.com/snippet/detail.php?type=snippet&id=413

it might require a bit of fiddling but you should be able to find what you want there]

Thanks for the suggestions. I am not sure where they have us connecting to using XML. If it were simple form fields, I would know. Unfortunately, I am a retard when it comes to this newfangled XML thingy. The links you've provided look very promising, so I will just leave it at that for now.

Thanks for your always useful and freely flowing assistance. <edit> Grammar check complete </edit>

No. I was US Navy, but I got out a year ago which is why I am now having to learn things like shopping carts and shipping. There is, of course, no need for these sorts of things in the military at this time. Why do you ask?
