I dont want let the user control the font size
Ugh. Ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh. Why not? As a designer, it's your job to make sure your site is useable and that anyone can access its content. Why is a specific font size so important that you have to override your user's settings? If a user has their font size set to large, they probably have a good reason for it. Maybe they have vision difficulties, and need larger text. Maybe they have their font size set to small because they're stuck on a low resolution machine at their school. There could be a lot of reasons. As a designer, it's your job to do your best to cater to all of them, not try to force them into your own box. In my opinion, an important element of a well designed web page is that it fits the user's needs, and not one specific, concrete appearance. Don't work to make your design impossible to change. Make the extra effort to make your design look good even when the user changes things like their font size or browser width. *That* is good design. If that's not incentive enough, keep in mind that IE 5/mac, I believe, allows users to resize *any* text at all, even that set in pixels. So there is no 100% foolproof way to stop the user from resizing their text. As should be the case. Deep breath. Sorry if that sounded hostile, I just lost a game of warcraft because my computer froze. Rrrr.
