are you talking about the menu buttons? They work for me.

I am not sure if image maps are standard or not really. Check out W3C, they'll tell ya.
I don't like them because they are a pain to code and the file sizes are usually too big.

Well, I don't know for sure if image maps are standard (I had thought they were), but I do know that you should never try to infer web standards from what the various browsers actually implement. That's like trying to infer the concept of communism from how it is generally practiced in the real world.

ok, well i'm gonna change it soon to make each button a little gif all in one div. i always thought that mozilla was super standards-compliant. but maybe the most practical way of implementing communism (if there is one) is not exactly how marx originally proposed it. nice analogy all the same. thanx.

The menu works fine in Mozilla 1.2.1.

Were you testing it in version 1.2? That had some bugs which were messing things up. Try it in 1.2.1 and see what happens.

If you're inventive enough, you can get away without image maps for a great many situations. The only time I've had to use them was in this page, where the GIFs themselves had very long decorative sections, and only one part should logically be clickable. (If the site doesn't respond, it's because the client hasn't been paying their hosting bills... I got my money, but the site itself is no longer maintained.)

edit: By the way, the Flash popup navigation wasn't my idea or my design. I just implemented the putrid thing.
