I need to find a free svg authoring tools for windows.

From the best I tried :
- Sodipodi for windows isn't bad, but not stable enough.
- WebDraw is great, but not free.

I didn't succeeded finding another valuable one...

OMERA: I'd be interested in an answer to this but I suspect you are going to struggle to find a one-stop free solution.

I suppose it depends on what you are planning on doing but I have had a play with SVG using just Notepad and other tools as needed (like Java applets for converting fonts to SVG). However, if you are doin more complex things then you will probably need some kind of vector graphics software - Illustrator and Flash amongst others can be used.

Most of my SVG resources are here but I'm not sure it helps much I'm afraid:

The SVG editors section might be of more help:
http://development.gurusnetwork.com/links/293/

and you might want to check out Web Dwarf as I think that is free.

Anyway let us know how you go there as it is an interesting question and if you have any good SVG links then feel free to throw them into the GN links database (there is an add links button on the right).
