i've recently become faciniated with div tags, especially the overlapping effects you can do with them. on my page, www.kevion.net , i've got a setup of three divs, one large one, with everything else inside, then two other ones, one for the sidebar, and one which overlaps it for the content. because of my background, and all the div layers are transparent, it's kind of hard to read, so i tried to add another layer with an alpha filter, to put a semi-opaque background behind the text. the reason i made a new layer, instead of modifying the current one, is because the filter would change the text and border as well. long story short, it doesnt work, and shows just another transparent div, though if you look hard, you'll see the opacity in the spaces between the dashes on the border. so tell me, is there some trick to getting div layers to stack up in a certain order, or to change the opacity of the background without affecting the text? you can view source on my page, and the style sheet is at www.kevion.net/style.css thanks for any help =] |
