I'd say it's a pretty advanced book, I tend to buy books that will last me a while, at least when they cost as much as they do here in sweden ($50-$80...) On the other hand I guess I'm a bit unusual since I tend to read them cover to cover before I even touch the computer to test it... :) I'd say it's useful to anyone with a serious will to learn XML though, newbie or not. All the info is there and it has a logical step by step coverage of the stuff you need.
