i'm trying to use sticky links on my menu. in golive 5, i create my floating box...add the image..size the floating box..move the box to the right place...and assign the show/hide actions to the menu buttons.

show and hide actions are working fine. what's not working is the floating box. IT WON'T LINE CORRECTLY with my menu button. and if it does...when ever you take the explorer window out of maximization...all of the floating boxes are moved and off set.

how do i "anchor" the floating boxes and position them permently where they're supposed to go. so that they don't move around when you resize teh explorer window.

any help would be much appreciated. THANKS!!!

Just to get something straight first... is golive 5 an editor? If it is, it is most likely going to produce horrendous CSS, and you may have to get your hands dirty. Do you have a working knowledge of CSS?

And it would also help if we actually had a page to look at so we could see the exact problem (not to mention your code).

i know, i know...i'll post the code and have a page up tomorrow.

as for css... i have some experience with it, but not a whole lot, mainly just style sheets...however, i can normally pick out a problem.

Hehe... um, CSS is style sheets (Cascading Style Sheets).

I'll wait to see the actual page and problem before I try to give any advice...

Well, aside from what Suho has said, there is an inherent contradiction in what you're asking.

You want 'floating' boxes, but you don't want them to float.....?

Yeah, I did notice that, but I figured I'd withhold judgment... I mean advice until we actually had something we can tear into. My best guess is that breakit is a bit confused about how floating actually works...

I think, when he says "floating" box, he's probably referring to a poorly-named golive feature that's actually absolute positioning.

So, when he says he wants it to line up, he means he wants the box to line up with a non-positioned element on the page.

The gist of it is, if golive isn't doing it right by itself, you're going to have to dig into the code on your own, figure out how it works and what's not working as you want it to, and change it. We can help, of course, but not do it for you, and it's not likely to be a quick fix.

Ah, the perils of relying on a WYSIWYG.
