hi, first of all, thanks for replying. i agree with what you said about the way IE6 calculates the border. it's definitely based on the non-float elements. similarly, i am also not very sure if that is the CORRECT way that it shld be interpreted. initially i had the same problem with firebird but after i set the css property "overflow: auto" , the border calculation is correct. sad to say, it's not the same for IE6. is there any way to work around it other than the hack u mentioned?
