does lynx even pickup the css file being a text only browser? If not then you can really use any css attribute you want as it will have no effect on the text browser?

Even if you are using CSS with your basic HTML branch you could have two separate CSS files one for each branch. Or just not include a css file link in you're html only version at all.

Well, what are you aligning right?

If it's text you'll want to use "text-align: right;" and if it's a div I'd use "float: right;". It kind of depends on the situation and what you're trying to do. Can you give us an idea of what the project calls for?

Shouldn't you use absolute positioning then?

If not then floating for divs and imgs and text-aligning for text is probably the way you want to go.

InI: The right property and its use are mentionned in the Box offsets section of the official CSS 2 specifications. So if it works in your browser of choice it's ok, whatever it should, and must, work in any standard compliant browser.

CSS2 have been validated in may 1998 why bother about browsers broken since more than 5 years ? Their manufacturers don't bother the web developpers, so why should we still support them at the risk of cheating the public ?

So to clearly answer your question, I'd say, no. No, there's no particular reason for not using the right property. It's standard and well documented since 5 years. So you don't have to feel guilty for the manufacturers who haven't done their job.
