[b]DL-44:[/b] I've updated the [url=http://poi.ribbon.free.fr/3columns.htm]test page[/url] with a [i]clear:both[/i] but in Gecko browsers the [i]"threeColumns"[/i] DIV ( and especially its ( pink ) background ) is not extended to the height of the biggest nested element contrary to the [i]overflow:auto[/i] method. I may be wrong, but [i]overflow:auto[/i] and [i]clear:both[/i] both makes sense. It turns out that my concern was about layout and that I wanted to keep the structure as is. The [i]overflow:auto[/i] seems to solve my problem and meet my requirement while the [i]clear:both[/i] meet my requirement but solve just a part of my problem.
