Hi there,
I have this nifty little javascript that pops up a new window.. within, a simple form "Get More Info" type of deal.
I'd like this browser to be transparent (somewhat). Is this impossible? Would I be better to position a layer over the top of my page? That would be very cool. Any tips on this?

The only trick I know like that is the old "chromeless" IE hack but there's no way to make it crossbrowser. I think I'd go with a layer that you could hide/unhide with the click of a button.

This is something I have been wondering about: is it posible to make a DIV's background semi-transparent?

Yup, there is.

It's proprietary markup, though, which I generally try to avoid. I once experimented with this when I was trying to find a nice layout for my site, but I couldn't find a solution that worked in all browsers, so I went in a different direction (ie, I abandoned the idea of opacity).

The CSS3 specs do include an opacity property, but who knows how long until that becomes mainstream...
