Topic: Im a Newbie :(

ok im sort of new to flash, im ok with it i guess.. i know there are many flash gorus out there. so im going to as for your help. When a flash movie is loading ide like to know how you make the loading animation that appears while it is loading.

Are you asking for the code to create one, or are you asking how you include the preloader?

The code would be just an actionscript loop that checks to make sure something is loaded before letting you continue...

errrr well i can make the loading animatio but i dont know how to make it link... i have flash 4 not 5 and i think that may be a problem and I have a sound layer too is that bad?

The simple preloaders are 2 frame loops - the first 2 frames of the movie. Frame two is the condition - "Is it ready to go yet?" If no, back to frame one and then two, over and over again, until finally the condition is met and if moves to frame three - the start of your movie's content. There's no link - the movie just continues playing. Sound track bad? Depends on how you feel about movies with soundtracks but as it relates to a preloader it's of no consequence. Flash 4? Ahh, now you've stumped me. I didn't start paying attention to Flash until version 5. But there must still be plenty of Flash 4 tutorials and fla files still on the 'net.
