Actually, Macs and PCs could easilly handle high-quality plug-ins for the web, because the OpenGL code behind would be 99.9% compatible. So why not? I'm also frustrated about a possible lack of compatibility, there is no valuable reason for that. And I'd really like to see a better Flash, because there are rivals and there can be better techology (see Java 2 and multimedia, impressive).
