Topic: Movie not working (Page 1 of 1)

I just ftp a movie and it is not playing (yes i included the swf file in the same folder), the weird thing is that if i click on it and open it from the domain it plays but i type in the url it doesnt show anything... does anybody know why??

ok this is the msg im getting:

Scene=Scene 1, Layer=Layer 31, Frame=59: Line 3: Wrong number of parameters; getURL requires between 1 and 3.

since it didnt let me publish it i copied the publish preview file that flash generated ( i know, ..... i didnt foul anyone )

this is the action my button has:

}
(i copied it from desingsbymark), dunno why it is not working (as usual )

Ok it has nothing to do with the error msg i finally got to publish it with no errors its still not playing my movie (yes i copied the swf file again)... i dunno what to do...

Could it be that i need to install flash player on my domain??..... Does it make sense??

no, flash player does not have to be on your domain.

can you show us the code in the html-file where you include the flash?
or maybe the domain?

ok, i asked a friend to take a look at it, he says he can see it... but when i aske dhim whats on it he says he does not remember ...dunno if hes lying heres the link:

the wierd part is that i can see other sites with flash 6 but just cant see my movie.....

well i can see it!

i see a image slideshow with french words and a piano background music.

but the redirecter goes to a 404.

Apparently anyone can see it but me... i guess its ok as long as it works...
yeah i know about the error i still havent upload the file that the movie is calling... still working on all the files (nothing big).

Thanks... but does someone know why am i not seeing the movie playing??....

hmmm. no idea.

did you try to refresh the page or empty your browser cache?

well its working for me

yup i tried deleting the browsers cache...didn't work ill uninstall flash player an install it again.....that should work

can you successfully watch flash movies on other sites?
do you have the latest flash plug-in? (6)
did you try other browsers/computers?

You need a target for you URL, that's what Flash is telling is wrong. Your code should look like

on (release){
getURL("http://www.url.com", "_blank");
}

Try that.

Grumble: yes i have flash player 6 and i can see some animations in other sites but not all of them... i can see the animation at www.palomablanca.com but i can not see the animation at www.brokensaints.com .... i find it weird..... , so i guess it has nothing to do with my movie has to be something else...

thats strange yeah!
well the only thing i could think of now is reinstall the flash plug-in or maybe the whole flash.

sorry that i cant help you more, but also i think there is nothing wrong with your movie!
