A rollover is an image that changes to something else when the mouse cursor is over it. You can't browse the web for long without seeing dozens and dozens. As for animation, ImageReady isn't really an animation tool, exactly. Instead, it provides a simple toolset for the creation of animated GIF images. (And it does a dozen other things which aren't related to animation.) Flash is an animation program; what's more, it's a vector-based program. This means that it stores shapes as mathematical patterns, which can be redrawn at any size with no loss of resolution. Flash's actual drawing tools are weak, however (has this changed in MX?), so you'd do well to create your graphics in Illustrator or Freehand, then import them into Flash.
