Not the way I would do it, but what you do is: File > Export Movie Choose the animated gif option from on the bottom. It should work. If you just want a gif of a spot in your movie choose Export Image from the file menu. Or are you trying export flash button to a gif? In that case all you will get is the up state of the button. The button states for Flash buttons require the movie to be played in the flash player(though I think there's some support in the quicktime player).
