Are you doing the fade in with ActionScript or with a frame tween? Does the image which gets covered up need to remain there? (I mean, is it later revealed or something?) If not, maybe you could remove that image with actionscript when the new image has completely faded in. That doesn't cure the Flash bug obviously, but it might take care of the symptoms. Loading...
