Topic: Any tutorials on creating a Flash site? (Page 1 of 1)

I've been looking for a tutorial that shows me how to create a functional web site in Flash, but I have had no luck.

Does anyone have a link or two? Thanks.

haven't ever really seen a site that does this. there's tons of tutorials at GN but i don't think any really cover site design start to finish. your best bet may be a book. foundation flash from friends of ed is a good place to start.

Yeah - that's really too broad a question. I suspect nobody is going to write a tutorial about doing an entire site. Mainly because what are the odds the site you want to build has any resemblence to any other site?

It's an interesting question though, because there ARE things you need to consider if your site is all Flash as opposed to just incorporating Flash elements. I've seen at least one tutorial that deals with replacing the browser scroll bars with the scroll pane component's scroll bar, and getting the mouse's scroll wheel to work with Flash. Those are the sorts of things I guess would be important if designing a strictly Flash site. I'll see if I can dig that URL up.

there's also the idea of loading swf's into a main swf that's important in a full flash site, should be some tutes floating around on that.

Well, when I was a Photoshop newbie, I learned the most from the complete tutorials rather than the component-level tutorials.

Yeah, well, you can't compare an image you made in PS with a full-blown Flash site

I guess I'll have to hire a flash/web designer later on...
