I do multimedia song presentations for churches and nonprof groups, and I am wondering if anyone knows of a good place to find cheap or free background video animations, space, nature, abstract. I'm just looking for small loops. I've searched around and found a few clips, but nothing really usable.

Thanks

Hmmm... Video, asside from being difficult to aquire even if you have a DV camera is very bandwidth heavy so I doubt you'll find many places that can afford to use valuable server space and simply offer it up to the public free of charge. Besides, there's less call for things like this than there is for Photography.

Although, I'm not sure about the laws in your country but in Australia you can use footage form the news for well, just about anything you want really but I'm not sure that would really suit what you're doing. Although there are lots of other options -- hire a DV camera and go film stuff -- 3D programs, even cheap ones, can create nice video of landscapes/space/abstract stuff -- get creative with still imagery, if you have video editing software you can still get sone nice motion using still images and stuff. Additionally, I'll assume you use either flash or director so you could also use these programs for animation.

You are probably going to find it difficult to find good quality stock video, free or cheap.
I did a quick search and found this site , which appears to have very cool footage, but pricy. http://www.videoanimation.com/timeimage/timeimage.html

What sizes are you looking for?...I have a few 320x240 clips of various themes, abstract,
waterfalls, flythroughs...etc. that may be of use.

cheers
