Hello,

I have a Flash template that I'm planning on using on my site. When I run it locally, everything runs fine. When I drop it on my server, it executes the "Loading" page - gets to 100%, then hangs.

Any ideas what might be causing this? I tried playing with the CHMOD settings, but that didn't help.

I'm a bit stumped as to why it works locally, but not on the server. I'm keeping everything in the same directory.

Thanks!!!

OK, forget it. I found the answer.

quote:
If you are already certain you have uploaded all the files for your template into the same directory, then this may be happening because your text file needs to be Unix formatted.
For Windows PC Users: If you are on a Windows PC, instead of using Notepad to edit the text file, you should download Metapad (it's free) by following this link: http://www.liquidninja.com/metapad/. Metapad will allow you to change the format of your text to Unix, and you can then edit and save it this way. Once you have downloaded and installed Metapad on your system, open the program, and then open your text file in Metapad. Then select "File" from the main top menu, and then select "File Format" from the drop down list. From there, you will select Unix from the format options that appear. Then make any changes you want, save the file, and upload to your server.

Hustluz, that sounds like a classice file name problem.

Windows will treat the MYMOVIE.SWF file the same as mymovie.swf and MyMovie.Swf, but a web server will see them as three different files, cause web servers are pick buggers. Make sure the swf file the HTML page points to has the same letter case. If in doubt, change both to all lowercase.
