Yeah, thought that'd get your attention. Well, I'm not lying and no, it's not warez.

This may actually be old news to some but It never came up in the 'Best 3D app' Discussions.

Oh, yeah, thers's also a catch to this. A rather big on infact, it's only Truespace 1. But hey, it don't cost nothing, and it hasent had anything cut out of it. It's the Full Version of Truespace 1 for free. Why? heh who cares, it's old, but it's free! I came accross this article at PC PLUS. You can download it from their site. I've poasted the link to the article below so you can skip the rest of my ranting and go get it. Enjoy

Most of the regulars in this section prpbably don't care much about truespace 1 cause it's so outdated now but I'v found it very usefull in my learning process. As a version 1 program it doesn't have 1001 options to confuse the hell out of me. Gives me a change to get the basics down then I may consider moving onto a more powerful version.

Ok, the link.

Have fun all.

Hey....truespace 1 was my first windows based 3D app...It still holds a soft spot in my heart and always will. Its one of the most under-appreciated 3D apps out there. It has most of the cool features that the big boys have, and for one third the price.

I'll assume your talking about Truespace 5. I was looking at their web site and I must say, god dam they can make a program look attractive. Compared to all the other 3D apps on the market that is. Well except for Bryce, but it's not really a pro 3D app now is it...(not trying to start a best 3d app argument)...

Forgive my naivete' but isn't Bryce more of a 3D animation tool?
I'm considering buying it (my B-day is coming up), but I'm gonna give
TS1 a shot.

I wouldn't even dignify calling Bryce a 3d ANYTHING. It is one of the most laughable applications in our field, and will most likley to more harm to your 3D Education then help it. (And I feel the same way about poser).

I know people will argue with that, but remember...its my opinion. I am one of the many peolpe who can look at an image and be able to say it was done in bryce (everything that comes out of it has the same basic "look").

Save your cash...trust me...

I have to agree with you on the bryce and poser they are a huge hog of a program resources wise as well and all the effects can be done in another program can they not?

The on thing about bryce that stands out to me is the water and the spinning ball (or whatever it is)

I like zbrush but it is a resource hog for me.

I have the most luvk with anything u-lead thus far since that is where I started first off have not even attempted adobe much but have alot of the programs and corel draw 10 just addles my brain.....

Jasc is nice but in the ulead it is easier to manoveur for smaller gifs and that is what I have kinda of started with maybe should have tried it from the beginning but that would make sense

I am a huge gabber and am a stark raving so just yell shut up if my yammering is a pain

Wow, Truespace! I started with V2.0. Was a great ride. Does anyone know where I can get 8-bit filters? TS 2.0 only allows 8-bit filters. Lemme know if ya know.

Until 3D becomes commonplace on the net...
