whenever i see a sample of a rendering engine, i mostly see this teapot, that is also available in 3dsm.

now im just reading some papers about SHREK - the making of. also, the teapot is mentioned very often as an example!

It's a historic 3d thing, someone did one back in the early days of 3d to test rendering on curved surfaces and it's just kinda stuck.

Grumble, maybe you've already seen it, but be sure to check out C:\program files\POV-Ray for Windows or whatever your folder is called\scenes\advanced\teapot\ !

Grumble & Fig: Thanks for that - when I was being taught CAD a decade ago the assignment was a teapot - it only now becomes clear (most comic moment was turning around when we had to submit and seeing someone else staring at their finished product before realising they submitted with the handle on the inside - such slow computers in those days considering the expense and they were obsolete before they'd finished installing them. I seem to remember it was called Apollo).
