I am trying to following a fireworkd tutorial, and on page three there is a discussion of adding an Alpha keyframe: http://oldsite.blender3d.org/showitem.php?id=111&page=3

When I press my I key, the optons I have are

Size
LocRot
LocRotSize
Layer
Avail

Mesh

There is no option for alpha. I am using blender 2.25 and I am wondering if I am missing something in my version of blender? Or am I just not understanding how to do this?
