Topic awaiting preservation: pov ray troubles

well i am not the best at povray but i am getting better. it's fun learning more and more things and i really totally love POV!
ok---here is the story
grumbz,kay-dee and me are playing a pov pong over at my forum.
as you can see we are using very basic objects to fill in the room.
well, i would like to add a simple ashtray to the room, but i got troubles with the texture


here you can see 2 superellipsoides cutted out with csg difference. probably not the best way to do an ashtray, but....nevermind.
my goal is now to add a texture(via imagemap) to the front of the ashtray (included in the rar file). i cant figure out how to place this texture exactly on this position because it always gets fussy, disorted and so on.
any suggestions? help?

edit: as the problem may not be clear, i will try to explain better(i apologize for that because my native language isn't english....so i got some problems with the expression sometimes )
well the following image is done in photoshop. well this is how i want the texture(imagemap) placed.

Look into the map_type keyword in the documentation. You want cylindrical mapping.
