I design webpages right now, and my brother is upgrading his computer so he is giving me his motherboard with 1GHZ processor. I will get this in a month or two, and I want to make this computer My server so I can host my own webpages from it. I was wondering if anybody knows where I can buy server space from for me to host websites from? Im a little new to servers, I will most likely put Linux as the OS (is Redhat the company that made Linux). And what software will I need to install on the server, so it wupports php, MySQL and all other common web languages? Any Advice would be greatly appreciated. |

The most common solution is called LAMP, which stands for Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP. All of these can usually be downloaded or obtained for free. |

also, check with your ISP that you are allowed to run a server. in some cases you have to upgrade to some business plan to do this. |

Yeah Dual processors is supported. (Linux has been ported to just about any hardware config you can imagine) It actually makes better use of dual-processor boards than many other OS's |
