Could anyone recommend a really good log file analyzer for unix? The one I have now crashes all the time, the output is terminated so half the time all I get is an internal server error. I currently use awstats. I don't know why the script keeps terminating as it's not like I have a multitude of visitors to my site.

Also (and this probably doesn't belong here), is there any way to recover deleted pages from a web server?

Analog is a very good program, and is something of an industry standard, I believe.

As far as I know, deleted is deleted.

Thanks Norm, I've just downloaded it. Looks to be pretty extensive judging by the gazillion files in the zip. I think this is total overkill for my puny website but I'll give it a go anyway.
