Hi, this summer me and my amigo were gonna try and build a webmail app as or new host doesn't have one of it's own and it would be useful to use with our pop3 accounts. Trouble is as yet neither of us know one shred of PHP, it was gonna be our learning project - of course with all good learning projects it's good to have a knowledgeable chappy to oversee the progress and help out when the goin gets tough. I'm hoping one of the lovely fellows here in this forum will be willing to give this project a crack (or at least point me in the direction of similar projects that have been undertaken).

Actually before I embark on such a project can someone just confirm it is actually possible to make a PHP based webmail app?

Umm assuming you don't want to use one that's already made like horde then sure it's possible!

I know of at least three open source php solutions...
then, it's a good learning thing, easy things mixed in with difficult things, progressing steadily...
don't have any time in the next few months, though.

so long,
