I'd say that they should come along at the same pace, or rather work the logo FIRST, as the typography will depend on the design and use thereof. We are worrying about having integrated and relevant typography, yes? Remember, this needs to be coded incredibly well...BUT it needs to be designed in proper fashion and paying attention to each minute detail of the design process and effective aesthetic as well.
