it's at This Place . (65k)

I stole recklessly from the other designs, especially softheads and darkgardens. I hope that's ok with darkgarden (Softhead was online, so I asked him...)

I know there's some 'whitespace' left over, but I'm sure we will find something to fill it with once we're doing this in html...
and some things seem distorted, well I just copied and stretched them. they would not be distorted in the final one...
oh, and if Doc could put it up the pspong.com server?

Tell me what you think.

Edit: adding all that stuff I forgot about the first time around.

TP: I like it. I think that is about as complex and busy as we'll need the interface.

And I managed to avoid the smart remark about the fact that you've been playing with yourself (and now I went and spoilt it!!).

How does that look down at 800x600?

Pugzly: Not great - the big challenge will be in translating the design into a more fluid layout and I'm sure it will require quite a few people putting their heads together on that one!! However, that is a few stops down the line.

Uh, if the initial designer doesn't account for liquid design, then the project really will be f**ked on the fronted right from the get-go. It's nice to see the backend coming together so well, but there's definitely some falling apart happening around this design.

Too many chiefs? Or just too many people wanting to be at the top, but noone really running the show?

If this is going to take off as a collaborative effort, then teams for the backend, frontend, architecture, maintenance, and coordination should really get shaped up before all this willy-nilly chickenheadedness gets out of hand. I think it's time that someone who has a stake in this steps in to start thinking of a REAL collaborative model. Even for as ludicrously swamped as I am right now, I can see that this is going nowhere, fast.

I remember this thing called c2x2...

great. the problem is, we only seem to have one team. The server side team, namely Emperor and me.

I'm aware that this design was only for 1024. But at least it acknowledged that a screen is 4:3. not higher then wide. I'll whip it into 800x600 in a few minutes, and if I don't see any better designs by tonight, start coding this. period.

The poster has demanded we remove all his contributions, less he takes legal action.
We have done so.
Now Tyberius Prime expects him to start complaining that we removed his 'free speech' since this message will replace all of his posts, past and future.
Don't follow his example - seek real life help first.

A lot of good points - some responses:

1. I think we are going to have to worry about the liquidity of the design when it moves from being an image to being HTML (unless someone does something outrageous which will never be liquid).

2. We are lacking leadership and we are really crying out for someone to say OK - that design, a bit of that, throw that out and we'll see how this works. All the cheerleading and attempts to rekindle the fire are going to amount to nothing if noone is prepared to take a lead on this. The code is coming on well and I owe TP another HTML skeleton (tonight) and it might be that once people see it start to work it might focus them - who knows. My feeling is that (at least on the design front - we can draft in others for other aspects) we need a 'filter' (if not a leader) who is prepared to speak their mind and start to whip the design front into shape. I know you are busy (aren't we all) but I think most of us would say that you, DG, are the man for the job.

Basically there are a lot of ideas coming in but it doesn't have any direction.

Thoughts?
