this is my first attempt at a sig with, I guess you would call it, a transparent background. I usually make them with a box frame to hide any jaggies..
Any comments or critiques would be greatly appreciated.

Your wires on the top are a little jaggy, but really, this is a nice one. I'd like ot see maybe some sort of plug for the cables that go into the asylum. Like a co-ax jack, maybe?

I attemtped a 'plug' or connector for the tubes, but that is where I got the worst results...I will try tonight.
One other thing, I remember seeing a thread that included a way to calculate the background color for the image, so that in a forum with alternating backgrounds, we wouldn't see a difference.
I am going to use this sig for a number of forums, only different matte colors. The other forums go from light blue to dark, grey blue.
If it is an easy calculation, could someone help...if it isn't then I will dig the forums for the old thread.

I am real excited about this small sig...this is my start..my base if you will..I really am going to try and learn from you folks and expand my knowledge of Photoshop, Art and all!!! I work best by doing and trying.

The only way you can make a .GIF work on more than one background is if the background colors are similar and you've worked with the average color of the two.

If the colors in the other forums vary much from these here (which I can only assume they will) then you will have to save different versions of the image with the proper matte color for each place.

very accurate DL..I have saved this sig 3 times for the other forum colors..one thing is that the forums have different templates, according to taste...which means different colors all around..ughh

To get the average of two colors, add their R values and then divide by two. Repeat this process with the G and B, and you're set.

If you don't know how to get RGB from Hex, the calculator program can do it, or you can insert the Hex code right into PS.
